SUSTAINABILITY

PDC is committed to being a leader in Sustainable Design. We welcome the challenge of designing buildings that meet our modern needs for shelter and preserve, to the highest degree possible, the finite resources of our planet. Energy efficiency, environmental initiatives, and the attention to sustainable and durable material selection are evident throughout our work. Our focus on sustainable design issues and high-performance design strategies demonstrate our commitment to developing a better building responsibly.

PDC's approach to sustainability resonate in the DNA of the project, and to then continue to subject the project to continual critical analysis and evaluations within in each phase of the work to determine the achievability of each approach when compared to the project's program, costs, and design.

Concepts will initially be developed incorporating previous researched proven ideas which can be implemented into sustainable strategies for the project's site, for the specific building type, and established a budget. Detailed integration and testing of these concepts, as well as cost-to-benefit analysis, will be developed to determine the feasibility with one of our proven consultants. The sustainable approach includes our conceptualization of developing a design that is 'timeless' in character that will last for generations.

Sustainability does not end with a discussion of the building's physical attributes but extends to concepts related to human comfort and well-being. Strategies will be explored that addresses the construction and operation of the new facility/home and its impact to the local community and culture, while also looking more globally at the effects of building material sourcing and production on world-wide cultures.
